Our next Occupy Supply webinar is this Wednesday August 1, at 8:00 PM Eastern.

Space is limited!

Our presentation this week will focus on U.S. drone technology — specifically its uses as a tool for war and the anti-war movement’s current activism surrounding it.

Drone use in Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, Libya and other countries has resulted in atrociously high civilian casualties, with no accountability. In Washington, Congress has been pushing for relaxed regulations of drone usage in US Airspace and the DHS has been posturing to put them in local police departments. According to this Washington Times article, some have even stated that they want to see 30,000 Drones in the US by 2020.

On Wednesday’s Skill Share we are joined by Tighe Barry, an organizer with CODEPINK. Tighe will be joined by other members of CODEPINK to discuss the various anti-drone actions they are working on. These actions include protesting at Hancock Air Force Base in Syracuse, submitting Community Ordinances Against the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in cities nationwide and organizing a delegation to go to Pakistan in September.

Register now for this important conversation about expanding drone usage on August 1 at 8pm eastern.

As always, this discussion is open to the public and we encourage you to invite your fellow Occupiers to join in this discussion.

I look forward to speaking with you this Wednesday. If you have any questions contact occupysupply@firedoglake.com
