At the Occupy National Gathering 2013, the people at the GA at Bronson Park on Sunday, August 25th voted to pass the Proposal of Solidarity that was brought to the gathering from the Occupy Strategy Group.

We, the people at the Occupy National Gathering 2013, are in solidarity with the group Move to Amend and we will join the Move to Amend coalition of groups in solidarity with the effort to amend the Constitution, to firmly establish that money is not speech, and human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights. Additionally, we are in solidarity with other groups and their efforts on the federal, state or local levels of government, to firmly establish that money is not speech, and human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights. We are in solidarity with these groups and their efforts, as we see these efforts as steps toward ending the corporatocracy by limiting the power and legal rights of corporations and affirming the power and legal rights of the human people of the United States of America.

Additional background information: Prof. Noam Chomsky has indicated to a member of the Occupy Strategy Group on 5/26/13 that ending the corporatocracy is an “Important goal [that] Seems to me worth a try, but probably with the recognition that even partial success would lay the basis for going on.”
