Interactive media call to learn about the encampment of Kalamazoo City Hall scheduled for Monday at 9pm
Kalamazoo MI— Over 250 people locally, and 127 other efforts have signed on to participate with the “occupy” Kalamazoo city hall to take action against the recent 70 million dollar offer to the city beginning Oct 1st, according social media and email notifications, according to local organizer Chris Wahmhoff.
WHO: This call is for people who are interested in learning what the event is, why it’s happening, and plans to have organizers of several planned teach ins and direct actions planned for the weekend across the city, including speakers like VP candidate Angela Nicole Walker.

WHY: This call is created to allow people who have questions about the 70 million, or have logistical, or related questions to the upcoming occupy encampment outside the steps of Kalamazoo City Hall to collaborate.
The offer from “The Foundation for Excellence”, has been described as an offer that would “change the definition of American Government” forever and is a level of privatization in our government not seen in our history before. This weekend of action is being organized to help the local community have tools to learn about, and stand against what local commissioners have described as “ A Trojan Horse”. The event will cover a range of social, environmental, racial, and economic justice. It will range from teach-ins and educational classes, or Dances and pot lucks, and will also see multiple direct actions and is expected to also be taking civil disobedient action. The event begins Oct 1st and will culminate at the Oct 3rd City Commission meeting.
